We are a dynamic team of very dedicated people who have decided to open an educational web-site for people learning English, and looking opportunities to publish their stories, articles, essays and poems online. EnglishClub.uz is the 1st web-project in Uzbekistan designed to everyone who shares the common desire to learn and speak English.

Our history dates back to 2002 when English Club was established at Uzbek State World Language University. Dilorom Gazieva, the retired Head of Lexics department, supported the project activities during two years providing us with classroom space and guidance. After leading the club for two years, some of our outstanding and enthusiastic club members took  control over the club activities and ran it for another three years.

These members include:

2004 - 2005

Hulkar Tursunova, Dilafruz Kamalova & Shahriyor Norboev
Indira Ikhlasova, Zarif Umarov, Hosiyat Tosheva, Botirali Khidirov & Anvar Babakulov

2005 - 2006

Yelena Ablaeva, Natalya Umrikhina & Bibimaryam Ibragimova
Alie Adjimambetova & Jamoliddin (JK) Kerimov

2006 - 2007

Zarina Gumbatova & Feruza Matsapaeva
Ekaterina Bayandurova & Darya Golovachyova

During those times we worked with number of educational organizations in Tashkent and helped approximately more than 300 students master their English language skills. Most importantly all our activities were non-for-profit. The club was run by a small group of selfless students for a big group of hardworking club members passionate about participating in the club activities and sharing their ideas all the way through. After graduating from our studies, we decided to suspend our English Club activities.

In 2010 we created our own blog, reconnected with many of our club members and started our English Club discussions in an online form. The idea of opening a blog became so attractive and stimulating that one of our energetic and creative club members Shahriyor Norbaev suggested transforming the blog into a whole educational web-site reaching out more students and offering more educational features.

Currently there are four of us working behind www.englishclub.uz day and night. Oybek Karimov - English Club Logo Designer

He studies Economics with Finance at Westminster International International University in Tashkent. Perhaps he thought that nobody would find out about his excellent Photoshop skills which are perfectly blended by his creativity and eye for style. Somewhere between January and February 2012 one his friends told English Club about his hidden talent, and soon after that he was requested to design a new English Club logo. Result is a brand new logo with its simplicity that blows! Saturated, piercing, solid and violaceous amethyst of spectrum! At the end we just take our hats off to the master.
